Affect Ability Wet Room Ideas Were The Perfect Answer

The initial visit to our new customer, as always was a fact finding mission to determine their needs, desires and design preferences. We subsequently discussed various bathing solutions and range of design concepts. After measuring the bathroom, it was decided that complete level access was the most suitable option and the client favoured our wet room ideas, so we agreed to install a full wet room.

As soon as we received a lead time for delivery of the materials from our suppliers, the project was scheduled and we began planning.

The first job was to remove the existing sanitary wear and the old bath which was extremely heavy due to its cast iron construction. Phase two was to prepare the wet room walls and integrate the under bath pipe work at the rear of the wall surfaces to yield a flat, clean look. We believe there’s absolutely nothing more unsightly than visible pipe work in a new wetroom.

The next couple of days we continued to implement our wet room ideas, by excavating the floor ready for the shower dec which had to be laid completely level, installing the waste system and we readied all the necessary pipe work for the new high rise toilet, sink and chrome towel radiator.

As a consequence of the existent ceiling being constructed on a slope, we decided to fit a new level false ceiling. The customer wanted to have a feature tile on the top of the wall, which was facilitated by the new flat ceiling. As you can see the results were fantastic.

Next the plasterer’s role was to dot and dab the walls and plaster the ceiling. When the plastering was complete we allowed the ceiling and the walls to dry over the weekend ready for the tiller to begin. As soon as the tiles were fixed we began installing the new shower seat, Mira shower, sink, high rise toilet, cabinet and the second fix electrics together with new paint and accessories to finish the project off beautifully.

We think that the outcome speaks for itself and the customer was extremely delighted with the final wet room ideas, as they evolved into reality.
